The outermost layer of the skin (Epidermis) gets damaged, as a result of which it separates from the layers below (Dermis). Fluid (serum) later accumulates within the newly formed space (between epidermis and dermis) to form a blister.
Sometimes blisters and bubbles form in the cupping area. This can cause burning, soreness, which may last for several hours. It may take 1-2 weeks to heal.
If this happens, do not panic, but immediately pierce all the bubbles with a blade and clean them with tissue paper. Then apply Cipladine/ Betadin ointment. Also advise your patient to apply this cream at home.
*causes of blisters*
1. Blistering can occur as a result of excessive pressure, rubbing or friction on the skin.
2. Exposure to extreme heat, such as a burn, can lead to blistering as the body's natural defense mechanism.
3. Certain medical conditions, like contact dermatitis or autoimmune disorders, can cause blistering as a symptom.
4. Allergic reactions to certain substances, such as chemicals or plants, can result in blistering.
5. Infections, such as herpes or chickenpox, can cause fluid-filled blisters to form on the skin.
6. Certain medications, such as chemotherapy drugs, can induce blistering as a side effect.
7. In some cases, underlying health issues, like diabetes or poor circulation, can contribute to blister formation.
8. Pemphigus, a rare autoimmune disorder, is characterized by widespread blistering and can be life-threatening if left untreated.
